Daulet Torlihanov, the President of the Asian Wrestling Federation, commended Jordan for its exceptional efforts in hosting the Asian Wrestling Championship for youth and juniors. Jordan's bid stood out among many advanced countries competing for the opportunity, and their subsequent execution of the championship was of the highest standards, meeting all international and Asian requirements for the sport.

In an exclusive interview with Al-Rai, Torlihanov emphasized the historical significance of this championship, as it marked the first time that Jordan hosted an Asian wrestling tournament encompassing Roman wrestling, freestyle wrestling, and women's wrestling, across various weight classes. The event was deemed one of the largest continental championships in terms of participants, attracting a remarkable turnout of coaches, referees, administrators, as well as heads of Asian wrestling federations and their representatives. The presence of technical, administrative, medical, and arbitration committees further underscored the championship's significance.

Torlihanov expressed his gratitude to the Jordanian Wrestling Federation, led by Mohammed Al-Awamleh and Vice President Abdullah Qutaishat, along with the entire board of directors, for their unwavering efforts and contributions in ensuring the success of the championship. He acknowledged the strong commitment to wrestling demonstrated by the Jordanian authorities, including the Ministry of Youth and the Olympic Committee. He secured victory in the World Cup in 1986 and 1990, the Asian Championship in 1995, and the Asian Games in 1994. Torlihanov earned the silver medal in the World Championship in 1993 and the bronze medal in 1987.

Torlihanov participated in the 1996 Olympic Games, finishing in fourth place. He held four titles in the middleweight category from 1986 to 1989 and two titles in the welterweight category from 1990 to 1991.
