Royal Jordanian Marks New Global Achievement as Samer Majali Wins ATW Excellence in Leadership Award

Samer Majali: The award is a recognition of the efforts of the entire Royal Jordanian family

Amman, September 22, 2026 – Air Transport World (ATW), one of the world’s leading publications covering the aviation industry, has named Royal Jordanian Vice Chairman/CEO Eng. Samer Majali the recipient of the Excellence in Leadership Award as part of the 2027 ATW Airline Industry Achievement Awards, in recognition of his leadership career and contributions to strengthening Royal Jordanian’s position regionally and globally.

The winners were announced as part of the 52nd edition of the awards, which recognize leading airlines, airports and aviation industry leaders from around the world. The ATW Airline Industry Achievement Awards are widely regarded among the most prestigious honors in the global air transport industry.

Commenting on the achievement, Royal Jordanian Vice Chairman/CEO Samer Majali said the recognition reflects the teamwork and commitment of the entire Royal Jordanian family. He added: "It is a great honor to receive this award. Leading Royal Jordanian alongside an exceptional team is a true privilege, and I am proud to accept this recognition on behalf of the entire Royal Jordanian family.”

Majali added that this international recognition reflects the position Royal Jordanian has achieved and the progress made in implementing its strategic plans, including the complete modernization of its fleet, expansion of its destination network, enhancement of its services and passenger experience, and strengthening of its role as Jordan’s national carrier in supporting the country’s tourism sector and economy.

The Excellence in Leadership Award recognizes an industry leader who has demonstrated exceptional performance and made a significant impact within their organization or across the air transport industry during the period under consideration. Over the past three years, the award has been presented to Martin Gauss, CEO of airBaltic; Goh Choon Phong, CEO of Singapore Airlines; and Walter Cho, Chairman and CEO of Korean Air.

The 2027 award recipients also include LATAM Airlines Group, named Airline of the Year; Peter Foster, recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award; Scoot, named Eco-Airline of the Year; Jet2, named Value Airline of the Year; American Airlines, recipient of the Force for Good Award; and Air Serbia, recipient of the Market Leadership Award. Royal Jordanian Vice Chairman/CEO Eng. Samer Majali received the Excellence in Leadership Award, alongside other honorees from leading airlines and airports worldwide.
