General Nadeem Raza, NI (M) Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), Pakistan
visited Jordan on an official visit. He was accorded a very warm welcome on arrival by senior JAF officials headed by Commander Royal Jordanian Airforce. On his visit to GHQ, Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), a formal reception was held where he was received by his Jordanian counterpart Major General Yousef Al Hneity. A smartly turned out contingent of Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) presented guard of honour to the visiting dignitary. During his meetings with JAF’s leadership both sides reviewed the historically strong bilateral relations, agreeing on the need to further these in fields of defence as well as in other fields of bilateral interests. Both sides expressed satisfaction over historically strong relations based on shared culture and commonality of views on important regional and international issues. The CJCSC Pakistan appreciated Jordan's efforts at securing peace and stability in the Middle East, underscoring the importance for lasting peace in the region especially in wake of recent Israel – Palestine situation. Later the CJCSC was briefed by senior JAF officials on latest regional situation. The visiting delegation also visited King Abdullah Special Operation Training Centre (KASOTC) where they witnessed a counter terrorism exercise by JAF’s special forces group. The CJCSC appreciated the high training standards displayed and underscored the need for sustained training collaboration between the two militaries. In recognition of his efforts to further bilateral relations, Jordan’s King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein has also awarded Jordan’s highest military award the ‘Order of Military Merit of the First Grade’ to General Nadeem Raza, CJCSC Pakistan.
The visit by CJCSC Pakistan and Jordan’s award of prestigious medal reflects strong friendly relations between the two countries.
